Prep Cook - Raven Landing

• Raven Landing Senior Community is and independent living complex that is home to 100+ Fairbanks area seniors. We serve them 5 meals per week in Raven Hall.
• Raven Landing Center is a premier catering and events location welcoming clients from the public for all kinds of catered events, but specializing in fine dining.

Job summary

As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations. Working under the guidance of our Head Chef, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, assisting in food preparation, and ensuring the kitchen is organized and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, cutting, and measuring
• Support the kitchen team in food preparation tasks
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Adhere to food safety standards and regulations
• Assist in receiving and storing deliveries
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations

Experience

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred
• Knowledge of basic food preparation techniques
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Skills

• Experience in food preparation is advantageous
• Experience in catering is highly advantageous
• Proficiency in handling food safely and following culinary procedures
• Knowledge of kitchen operations within the food industry
• Familiarity with culinary tools including knives
• Understanding of food safety protocols

• 10 am to 6 pm, Monday - Thursday
• 9 am to 3 pm, Friday
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for catering events is a must
