Family Friendly Workplace

 

The annual Family Friendly Workplace Awards will be given out at this fun filled lunch Presentation. Come support all the businesses and bosses who were nominated and won. The program will include another annual event, the United Way Kickoff with dessert auction.  

 

The Fairbanks North Star Borough's (former) Early Childhood Development Commission started the Family Friendly Awards as a way for employees to thank their bosses who support them and their families. Family friendly workplaces are employers who recognize the importance of parents spending time with their children, adult children providing care for an elderly parent, families of choice supporting each other, or even allowing time off for the animal members of the family. 

 

The employers benefit because their employees are happier… a loyalty is built.  It reduces turnover and employee absences and workers are more productive. Employers get recognition at the award ceremony, in the newspaper, window cling that advertises their nomination and the winners receive a proclamation from the borough mayor.
