    Project Manager/Cost Estimator

    Full Time/40Hrs a Week

    $50/HR or $105k Annual salary depending on experience 

     

    Immediately seeking a Project Manager/Cost Estimator for a Fairbanks construction company.

    Excellent communication skills both written and verbal , strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines is required to be successful in this position.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Determine the project deliverables and specifications, including the project scope, necessary project resources, and estimated labor needed by collaborating with clients, engineers, and architects.
    • Calculate the cost estimate of all project tasks and accurately manage the project budget.
    • Plan and schedule the entire construction project, including construction operations and timelines to make sure project deadlines are met.
    • Acquire the appropriate licenses and permits from the corresponding authorities and ensure construction is up to code.
    • Work with subcontractors, and external vendors to negotiate profitable contracts.
    • Communicate the status of the building project to key stakeholders by providing regular progress reports.
    • Prepare construction project cost estimates, budgets, proposals.
    • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, materials) from project start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations.
    • Negotiate subcontract agreements, assist with construction contract negotiations.
    • Familiarity with construction documents, drawings, specifications, addendums, etc.
    • Carefully analyze subcontractor proposals, negotiate subcontract agreements and change orders.
    • Prepare and review submittal packages, interface with designers/engineers for compliance.
    • Interface with project superintendent to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, create interim look-ahead work schedules.
    • Maintenance of job-related documentation
    • Track costs and cashflow management throughout assigned projects.
    • Maintain relationships with existing clients as well as making of new business through these developed relationships.
    • Conduct project meetings, interface with administrative staff for preparation of minutes.
    • Attend and participate in required meetings, trainings, and exercises.
    • Maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Serve as a representative of the company, displaying courtesy, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related fields
    • Minimum 3 years of work experience in construction management, with increasing levels of responsibility
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a bonus.
    • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and entire building process, including building codes, blueprints, permits, construction equipment, material resources, construction processes, and project management principles
    • Proficient in Excel, Project, and other Microsoft programs
    • Experience using construction or project management software preferred.
    • A valid driver’s license is required.
