    The QA/QC Specialist ensures that design, service, operation, and construction meets the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance.

    Starting Wage Range: $93,436.00 - $115,069.00
    This is an in-person position located in Fairbanks, Alaska.

    What you will do

    • Review and comment on DU standards of construction.
    • Review project plans and specifications to ensure they meet the owners’ standards.
    • Review and comment on capitol plan?submittal.
    • Provide onsite quality assurance services for capitol plans, RFP, and design build projects.
    • Periodically audit project managers folders for three Army posts to ensure that project documentation is being properly stored and closeout deliverables are being met.
    • Draft quality assurance policies and?procedures.
    • Monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure contract requirements are being met.
    • Develop, recommend, and monitor deficient and non-conforming materials or workmanship.
    • Ensure compliance with quality and industry regulatory requirements.
    • Review contractors’ compliance with OSHA standards.
    • Ensure ADEC water and wastewater regulatory requirements are being implemented into project development.
    • Review and participate in commissioning of systems and equipment.

    Conditions of Employment
    Must pass a pre-employment drug test, random drug test thereafter in accordance with the published policy of Doyon Utilities. Must have a valid driver's license issued by the State of Alaska. Must be eligible to work on a military installation in Alaska. Eligibility to work on a military installation includes compliance with Department of Defense mandates with respect to employee background and health directives.

    Qualifications

    • A two-year technical degree or certification in an industrial field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Preferred
    • 3 years construction or utility industry experience. Required
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and internet applications.
    • Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, and methods, particularly as applied to utilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent time and project management skills.
    • Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills.
    • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
    • Strong problem-solving, and analytical skills.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
