Golden Valley Electric Association: Who We Are
GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Your day as a Member Services Representative I- Frontline
As a Member Services Representative I- Frontline at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will provide exceptional customer support as the primary point of contact for our valued membership. Your role will involve assisting members with account creation, payments, and understanding their energy usage, while also offering comprehensive knowledge of the cooperative's services. In high-stress scenarios, such as unexpected outages or service disconnects, you will calmly guide members through the process, utilizing known resources to restore electric service efficiently. To excel as a Member Services Representative I- Frontline at Golden Valley Electric Association, candidates must possess a blend of essential skills and qualifications. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid driver's license, ensuring you can navigate our service area effectively. You should have at least two years of experience in a direct customer service role within the service industry, which has equipped you with the interpersonal skills to handle diverse member inquiries compassionately and efficiently.
Additionally, a minimum of one year of cash handling experience is essential, as you will be processing payments and managing transactions accurately. Strong oral and written communication skills are vital, enabling you to convey information clearly and build rapport with members. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Two years' experience working in a direct customer service related capacity in a service industry.
- At least one year of cash handling experience.
