    Golden Valley Electric Association: Our Mission

    GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Powering the Interior of Alaska, GVEA contributes to the economic, environmental, and social viability of our communities.

    What would you do as a Member Services Representative I (Credit)

    As a Member Services Representative I (Credit) at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will provide exceptional customer service support to our members, acting as their primary and ongoing point of contact for credit processes and payment arrangement options. In this vital role, you will assist members during high-stress scenarios, such as unexpected outages or service disconnects due to non-payment, ensuring they feel supported and informed. Utilizing your extensive knowledge of the cooperative, you will effectively communicate available resources to restore electric service, fostering trust and member education.

    Are you the Member Services Representative I (Credit) we're looking for?

    To be successful as a Member Services Representative I (Credit) at Golden Valley Electric Association, a combination of essential skills and experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary, along with a valid driver's license. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in a direct customer service role within the service industry, as this will enhance your ability to effectively address member needs and concerns. Additionally, a minimum of one year of cash handling experience is vital for managing transactions accurately and efficiently.

    Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are crucial, enabling you to educate members and build trust while navigating high-stress situations. Furthermore, a positive attitude and teamwork mindset will help foster collaboration and a supportive atmosphere, contributing to overall member satisfaction.

    Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Valid Driver's License
    • Two years' experience working in a direct customer service-related capacity in a service industry.
    • At least one year of cash handling experience.
