    Position Summary:
    The primary functions of this position are to process freight bills and to assist customers with freight tracking and status information in an efficient and professional manner.
     
    Tasks:
    • Accurately prepare assigned billing, including receiving, inputting.
    • Process paperwork related to invoices, delivery receipts, manifests, damages, shortages, refusals, bills of lading
    • Assist customers (over phone and via email) and provide information regarding their freight in a polite and professional manner.  Activities may include, but not limited to:
      • Tracing/researching freight status
      • Marking bills
      • Answering questions (specific and general)
      • Obtaining corrections or re-rates
    • Provide updates or reports as appropriate
    • Sort and distribute paperwork within the office
    • Consistently follow all safety procedures
    • Assisting in general clerical duties.  Activities may include, but not limited to:
      • Copying
      • Faxing
      • Imaging/scanning
      • Filing
      • Answering in-coming phone calls
    • Assist coworkers and other departments as requested
    • Other duties as assigned

    Special Certifications/Licenses

    Education and Experience:
    • High School diploma (or equivalent) required
    • One to two years of general office experience required
    • Transportation or freight experience preferred
    • Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position
     
    Supervision/Management:
    • This position is not a supervisory role
     
    Physical Demands
    • Ability to sit at a desk and/or in front of a computer for an extended period of time
    • Ability to independently move up to 20 pounds
    • Ability to use proper lifting techniques when needed
    • Ability to do repetitive motions
    • Ability to work in a warehouse environment where exposure to the elements and exhaust fumes are likely
     
    Work Environment:
    Work is performed mostly in an office or warehouse environment, will also include outside work in the elements.  Exposure to exhaust fumes is likely.  Overtime may be mandatory as needed.  Conditions may also include exposure to environmental noise.
