The purpose of this role is to design, implement, and lead a robust quality control system that ensures project success while driving operational excellence and fostering collaboration across the entire project team.Your day-to-day, broadly speaking:Drive excellence by ensuring all work and materials consistently meet or exceed contract requirements and the highest standards of quality. Take charge of monitoring daily construction activities, coordinating field testing and inspections, and verifying third-party special inspections and material testing for compliance. Maintain accurate and detailed quality control (QC) reports to document progress, inspections, and testing outcomes. Lead the contract close-out process with precision, ensuring all inspections, testing, and documentation are completed seamlessly to uphold project success.On the health and safety side, you will champion the company’s health and safety program by fostering a strong culture of safety across all teams. Ensure full compliance with OSHA guidelines and workplace safety regulations while conducting impactful safety tailgate meetings that meet project requirements. You need:- PE or Construction Management degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial instruction
- Minimum 5 years of experience reading, understanding and interpreting drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules
- Experience documenting all non-compliant materials and/or workmanship, & compliance after corrective work is completed prior to starting any subsequent work
- Strong knowledge of quality control testing and inspection procedures for building and civil construction
- Quality control sector experience in Federal, State and local government facility construction work throughout Alaska preferred
- Experience using MS Word, Excel, Project and Acrobat
- Effective communication skills with subcontractors, superintendents, staff, consultants and owner’s representatives
- Ability to record and organize all necessary documentation to memorialize the implementation, maintenance and effectiveness of the Quality Control Program
- Experience with Projnet and Procore a bonus
- Ability to exercise good judgment
Required Certifications:- Ongoing education in Construction or Project Management
- USACE Contractor Quality Management (QCM) certification
- OSHA 30 Certification
- HAZCOM Train the Trainer, Lead Awareness, First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain quickly
- Experience with USACE Three-Phase Construction Quality Control Program, preferably with quality control experience on government building facilities and in civil construction
