Fairbanks Arts Literary Reading with Olivia Hill

Fairbanks Arts is delighted to welcome Olivia Hill for the August literary reading taking place in the Bear Gallery on Saturday, August 5 at 7 p.m. Hill will read from her book “Travel North Black Girl: A 3,000-Mile Journey in Search of Love, Peace, and Home,” which addresses the complexity of race, gender, generational trauma, and the powerful healing that the wilds of Alaska provide.
Olivia Hill is an award-winning playwright, born and raised in Kansas City. She shares her journey of mental health, literacy, and being a Black woman within the creative arts to many audiences. She’s a published short-story author and playwright of over five plays produced in many states and the recipient of the Lorraine Hansberry Award for her play “Mother Spense.”
