Fairbanks Arts August Exhibitions with Lyndsi R. Harris and Tiffany M. Davis
-
Join Fairbanks Arts in the Bear Gallery for our August exhibitions: Stitched for the Future by Lyndsi R. Harris and The Majesty of Alaska by Tiffany M. Davis.
The exhibitions are on view in the Bear Gallery from August 4–26. First Friday is August 4 from 12–7 p.m., with an opening reception from 5–7 p.m. The rest of the month, the gallery will be open Monday–Saturday from 12–6 p.m.
Stitched for the Future was created to explore worldwide endangered species and conservation efforts. The pieces are stitched on non-traditional embroidery surfaces, mostly birch tree bark and hand-tanned salmon leather, but all are only sustainably harvested materials.
Lyndsi wishes to convey a vision of hope for our planet through stories of incredible people fighting to preserve the astonishing wildlife worldwide for future generations. In support of this vision, Lyndsi is donating 10% of the proceeds of each sale to various conservation efforts – some small local efforts and some large-scale worldwide efforts.
Lyndsi R. Harris is a contemporary mixed-media artist specializing in watercolor and hand embroidery on various non-traditional canvases, including birch tree bark and hand-tanned salmon leather. Lyndsi was the 2022 Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Artist of the Year. In addition, she was the featured artist for the 2022 Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival.
The Majesty of Alaska is a collection of oil paintings on canvas that capture Alaska’s jaw-dropping views with vibrant color. Each painting holds a hidden surprise for the viewer to find.
Tiffany M. Davis is an oil painter who lives in North Pole. She strives to capture the texture and majesty of the subject matter in her paintings. Each painting contains a “hidden treasure,” encouraging viewers to become explorers and find the secret in each work of art.
Tiffany was a finalist for the Fairbanks Artist of the Year. She’s exhibited in multiple solo shows in Alaska and New Mexico and had work published in Home By Design Magazine. Davis is a board member of the Grange Gallery in North Pole.
These exhibitions are free and open to the public, thanks to support from our donors and members. For more information, visit fairbanksarts.org.
