Kyle Agustines' BFA Thesis Exhibition "The Sway of Surroundings" will be on view in the UAF Art Gallery from November 4th-15th, with an opening reception on Friday, November 8th from 5-9pm. You are invited to attend this immersive fine arts installation of acrylic paintings, digital artwork, and painted walls that explore the reciprocal relationship between environments and experiences. The exhibition portrays an abstracted journey through a year in the Alaskan Interior, emphasizing how seasonal change transforms the qualities of the surrounding world and our lives within it. It reveals Agustines' connection with the dynamic environments of the present, the interplay between perception and reality, and stewardship of the places he inhabits. The work’s presence highlights how sensations shape our perceptions and, in turn, our experiences. Its chromatic geometries and symbolic landscapes offer reflective moments to examine what “place” is and to question the ways that "The Sway of Surroundings" influences life.
