Join Fairbanks Arts in the Bear Gallery for our June exhibitions: Detailed Within by Cammie May and A good place to be by Riva Sazama. Detailed Within is a body of work that began when Cammie was pregnant with her first child and showcases her talent and dedication to capturing Alaskan flora and fauna. Using multiple media, this exhibition is an homage to the nature of Alaska and intends to capture the sense of magic within the state. A good place to be features exclusively patinated copper created through hand-built construction. Riva states: “The work I created for this show is not only a visual celebration of the beauty of living in this amazing landscape, but also a testimony and acknowledgment of the physical and emotional struggles that brought us here, to this place and moment in time." These exhibitions are on view in the Bear Gallery from June 4-26. The gallery is open Monday–Saturday, 12–6 p.m. Visitors are required to wear a mask and practice social distancing, and the gallery currently has a 15-guest limit in place.
