Thank you for your service to our community. The UAF Department of Athletics would like to welcome more military families to our home sporting events. This year we established a military ticket discount. Does your group have suggestions on how we might make this work (without giving tickets away).

    Your feedback is welcome,
    Sheena M. Cummings

    Hello,
My daughter will be moving to Fairbanks in March. She is locating there with her husband that is in the army. How can I help her or what kind of information can you give me about Fairbanks Alaska to make her more comfortable about coming to your city and state. My daughter is shy and quiet while her husband is outgoing. I know she will be okay Hw would I convince her that she will be okay in your city without her family?

      Hi There!

Fairbanks is probably one of the most supportive military communities you’ll find. My husband is stationed here through the Air Force and we have fallen in love with this place. I’m the Executive Director of the Chamber and would be more than willing to take your daughter to coffee and welcome her to the area. The Army has a fabulous MWR program and their FRG leaders are some of the best. The winters can be long, but you’ve got to just push through and get out and enjoy what the area has to offer. We do offer a relocation package through the Chamber for just $15. If you wish to contact me directly, you can send me an email by going to: http://fairbankschamber.org/contact/ and select “Lisa Herbert”. Feel free to call me at (907) 452-1105 or directly at (907) 374-6706.
