Mission Statement
The Energy Committee will concentrate on the affordability, sustainability, and diversification of end-use energy in the Interior as well as our State. The Committee will inform and educate Chamber members and the general public on end-use energy-related issues and submit resolutions to the Board for approval as needed
Goals for the Year
- Energy Affordability
- Investigate and identify affordable end-use energy options. Such options may include:
- Natural gas and/or liquefied natural gas
- Coal
- Hydroelectric
- Renewable energy
- Energy Efficiency and Conservation
- Work to maintain or expand Interior refining capacity
- Actively support Legislation that affects end-use energy affordability
- Energy Sustainability (sustainability is defined as results and actions that achieve long-term supply and stable prices of end-use energy)
- Actively endorse and back regulations that support sustainable end-use energy sources
- Initiate actions that achieve sustainable end-use energy options
- Promote sources of readily available end-use energy options
- Energy Diversity
- Identify viable options to diversify end-use energy alternatives. Such alternatives may include:
- Renewable energy such as wind, solar, hydroelectric, biomass, and geothermal sources
- Coal-bed methane
- Coal to liquid/gas
