The Business and the Arts Committee will promote a thriving community by building beneficial Business – Arts relationships.
Goals for the Year
- Advocate for a strong Arts community
- Develop presentation for service groups and businesses
- Report on economic impacts through participating in the Americans for the Arts survey process.
- Provide educational opportunities
- Sponsor workshops on ways to interlink Business and the Arts
- Work with Chamber membership in Americans for the Arts for information and webinars
- Provide articles on the Arts for eNews
- Explore new avenues for tangible results for Business-Arts collaboration
Programs & Projects for the Year
- Artist of the Year
- Develop sub-committee to become more involved in the “Artist of the Year” selection process
- Friends of the Arts
- Monthly “Friend of the Arts” for recognition
- Link to National Award recognition through Americans for the Arts, possibly a new category of award for Annual meeting
- First Friday
- Plan and host a First Friday event for the “Artist of the Year” at the Chamber office
- Recommend appropriate General Membership Luncheon Programs/Panel Discussions
